It took an actual financial hit for me to stop putting this off and I'm a bit annoyed at myself for waiting that long honestly. We had a batch of goods that got damaged during an internal move within our own facility, nothing to do with shipping, just poor handling and inadequate storage containers that weren't built for the weight we were putting in them. When I added up the replacement cost it was enough to make me genuinely uncomfortable and my accountant very pointedly suggested that smart choices for handling and storing goods would cost significantly less than repeatedly absorbing losses like that one. She wasn't wrong. So I've spent the last few weeks actually researching what better looks like for an operation our size in Ajman rather than just replacing what broke with the same thing that broke in the first place. I found CrateCo Pack LLC listed on a local UAE business directory and they appear to specialize in exactly the kind of industrial packaging and storage equipment we've been mismanaging for too long. What I'm trying to work out now is whether it makes more sense to do a full audit of our handling processes before buying new equipment or just start replacing the most obviously inadequate containers and build from there. I suspect the answer is somewhere in the middle but I'd genuinely value hearing from people who've approached this methodically rather than reactively like I've been doing up until now.
