Buying a used Wrangler – need a solid pre-purchase inspection in Abu Dhabi

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a 2019 JL Wrangler that I found online, but I've heard too many horror stories about lifted Jeeps with hidden frame damage or badly done modifications. Since I'm not mechanically gifted enough to spot issues like a cracked weld or a leaking transfer case myself, I want to get a proper pre-purchase inspection done before I hand over any cash. The seller is fine with me taking it to a shop, but I need someone who really knows what to look for on a Wrangler – not just a generic "safety check". I've been looking for Expert Jeep Care Abu Dhabi and came across a few names online, but I'd much rather hear from actual owners who've paid for a pre-buy inspection and felt it was worth the money. What specific things did they check that a normal mechanic might miss? And roughly how much should I expect to pay for a thorough once-over including a test drive and putting it on a lift? Any recommendations for a trustworthy place around Mussafah would be amazing. Really don't want to end up with someone else's neglected project. Thanks.

A generic safety check is useless on a lifted JL. You need someone who specifically inspects weld quality on any aftermarket bumpers or sliders and checks if the lift was installed with proper caster correction.

Transfer case fluid condition and front axle u-joints are the two things most pre-purchase inspections miss on used Wranglers. A Jeep specialist will check both without being asked.

Paid for a pre-purchase inspection on my JK a few years back and they found a cracked rear diff housing that the seller genuinely didn't know about. Saved me from an expensive surprise and gave me negotiating power on the price.

Ask them specifically to check the frame around the control arm mounts and the rocker panels for any signs of previous recovery damage. Hard off-roading leaves marks that a quick visual won't catch without getting underneath properly.

A thorough inspection including lift check on a JL should cost somewhere between 300 and 500 dirhams at a reputable specialist. Anything significantly cheaper usually means a quick visual, not the proper once-over a used Wrangler actually needs.
